General Practice Physicians: Marketing New Cosmetic Offerings
The New York Daily News recently reported that more and more doctors are beginning to offer cosmetic treatments to their regular patients. Such procedures deviate highly from general health-focused practices and can help doctors curtail the costly expense of medical and insurance bills.
These doctors and dentists are eager to offset the cost of such aforementioned overhead in these trying economic times, and some more than others, are even able to collect revenue on top of it all. By offering treatments such as Botox injections and non-invasive laser procedures, physicians are able to bring in large amounts of cash by providing cosmetic services not typically covered by patients’ insurance.
As these doctors try and make their way into the $12 billion a year cosmetic procedure market, it may be worth their time and budget to advertise such treatments on a general practice physician Web site. Letting it be known that patients can come in for, say, a Botox injection in supplement to their sinus infection or regular check-up can increase both legacy patient activity and new patient frequency.
One doctor in Chelsea claims that the cosmetic procedures he has been offering (mainly wrinkle-filler injectables) brings in about 70% of his revenue.
